PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found dead early Sunday morning in a downtown Portland parking lot.
Discovery in the Early Morning Hours
At approximately 4:30 a.m., Portland police officers responded to reports of a person lying on the ground in a parking lot located in the 300 block of Southwest 3rd Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim who was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Evidence Suggests Gunfire
Authorities stated that evidence recovered from the scene indicated the man had been shot. However, officials clarified that the exact cause and manner of death will be determined by the Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office following a full autopsy.
