PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A West Linn physician accused by nearly 200 women of sexual abuse over more than a decade is now facing criminal charges following a grand jury indictment.
Dr. David Farley, formerly of West Linn Family Health Center, was booked into Clackamas County Jail on Friday and arraigned on multiple felony counts stemming from alleged abuse that prosecutors say occurred between 2009 and 2021.
Facing 11 Felony Charges
Farley, who pleaded not guilty in court Friday afternoon, is facing 11 felony charges, including several counts of first- and second-degree sexual abuse and unlawful sexual penetration.

According to the Oregon Department of Justice (DOJ), one of the alleged victims was under the age of 14 at the time of the assault. Prosecutors say Farley used his position as a trusted medical professional to exploit women who sought his care.
The charges follow years of accusations by at least 170 former patients who claim Farley sexually assaulted or inappropriately touched them during medical visits. Many of the alleged incidents occurred at his West Linn clinic, as well as during his employment at Providence and Legacy hospitals in Oregon City and Tualatin.
A Mishandled Investigation Reopened
Farley had previously avoided prosecution in 2022 after the West Linn Police Department was found to have mishandled the investigation. That revelation prompted the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office to request that the Oregon DOJ take over the case in 2024.
Following months of renewed investigation and testimony from dozens of survivors, a Clackamas County grand jury returned the indictment last week.
Attorney General: ‘No One Is Above the Law’
Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield issued a statement Friday emphasizing the significance of the charges and the state’s responsibility to deliver justice.
“When someone in a position of authority uses that position to harm others, it strikes at who we are as a community,” Rayfield said. “We owe it to survivors to follow the facts wherever they lead and ensure that no one is above the law.”
Civil Lawsuit Also Pending
Farley is also facing a separate civil lawsuit, in which several plaintiffs allege that he used his medical authority and his role within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to target and manipulate victims. That case is scheduled to go before a jury in January 2026.
Three plaintiffs told NewsNation that Farley leveraged his religious standing and professional reputation to gain their trust before committing acts of abuse.
Next Steps
Farley remains in custody while awaiting further court proceedings. His indictment marks one of Oregon’s most significant criminal cases involving alleged sexual abuse by a healthcare professional.
State officials say more charges could be added as investigators continue reviewing new reports from former patients coming forward.
The Oregon DOJ is encouraging anyone with information about the case to contact its victims’ assistance division.
