ESTACADA, Ore. — A man was taken into custody Monday afternoon following a tense standoff near several Estacada schools, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities say the suspect, identified as Kyle Anthony Gossling, fired shots inside his home before surrendering peacefully.
Shots Fired Inside Residence
The incident began around 2:30 p.m. when deputies were called to Gossling’s residence on North Broadway Street. Investigators said Gossling was armed with a semi-automatic pistol and discharged two rounds into the floor of his home while his mother was present to collect some of her belongings.
Fortunately, no one was injured during the gunfire. The shots, however, prompted an urgent law enforcement response given the home’s proximity to several schools.
