An Oregon City pedestrian died Thursday night after being struck on Highway 99E near SE Clarendon Street in Gladstone.
Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to the motor vehicle crash shortly after 10 p.m.
Investigators say Michael Lacy, 61, was in the lane of travel when he was struck by 59-year-old David Mauerman, also of Oregon City, who was driving southbound in a silver Mercedes G25.
Lacy sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead while en route to the hospital by ambulance.
Hwy 99E was closed for approximately two and a half hours following the crash.
Earlier that afternoon, OSP had responded to another fatal crash in Clackamas County, this one involving two vehicles on Highway 212 near Boring.
Police say a Toyota Landcruiser, operated by 72-year-old Donna Chaney, of Boring, was traveling eastbound when it drifted into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a Honda Accord operated by 44-year-old Michael Laubach.
Laubach, a Tigard resident, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Chaney did not sustain serious injuries and is cooperating with the investigation, police say.
OSP was assisted by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, Clackamas County Fire Department and Boring Fire Department.
