The Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office is looking for volunteer victim advocates who are interested in helping victims of crime.
These amazing individuals provide crisis intervention and follow-up support to people who are experiencing trauma caused by crime. Advocates respond to hospitals and police stations, keep victims informed of their case status, accompany victims to court (as needed), and support them in exercising their rights under Oregon law.
People who succeed in this role are:

- good listeners
- enjoy problem-solving
“Being the victim of a crime can be extremely traumatic,” District Attorney John Foote says. “Knowing you have someone on your side, helping you along the way, can make all the difference in the world in recovery for the victim.”
Many volunteers work full-time jobs along with their volunteer commitment. Advocates must be at least 18 years of age and have reliable transportation and no criminal background.
