Traffic Stop in Canby Leads to Additional Sex Abuse Charge

A 40-year-old man already facing trial for numerous rape and sexual abuse charges was arrested in Canby Friday after police found him in the presence of a minor female during a routine traffic stop.

Vitaliy Yasinskiy.

Vitaliy Yasinskiy was previously arrested June 10 by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office on four counts of third-degree rape, five counts of third-degree sex abuse, four counts of third-degree sodomy, seven counts of online sexual corruption of a child and six counts of prostitution.

Yasinkiy posted bail and was not in custody Friday, Aug. 6, when Canby Police stopped him for a traffic violation. He had an underage female in the car with him at the time of the traffic stop, authorities said.

Concerned for the girl’s safety, the Canby officer contacted detectives from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office Adult Sex Crimes Unit, who responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.

Yasinskiy was subsequently arrested on a new charge of third-degree sex abuse.

While both investigations are continuing, authorities believe Yasinskiy could have had more victims. He allegedly used Snapchat to talk with and lure children.

Anyone with information about Yasinskiy’s criminal activity is urged to contact Detective Kyser at 503-655-8211. Please cite case no. 21-952376. You can also call the confidential Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at 503-723-4949 or use the online email form.
