A Salem man was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon in a three-vehicle chain-reaction crash on Highway 99E near milepost 39.
Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel were called to the scene at approximately 2:07 p.m.
Investigators said Tyler Cook, 26, of Gervais, was driving a Chevrolet pickup northbound when he rear-ended Jonathan Morgan, 60, of Salem, who was also in a Chevy pickup and who was stopped to turn into an adjacent driveway.
Morgan’s pickup was forced into the southbound lane, where it collided with a Dodge minivan operated by Amisaday Espinosa-Feria, 29, of Woodburn, police said.
Espinosa-Feria was transported by Life Flight air ambulance to Salem Hospital. Cook was transported by ground ambulance to Salem Hospital.
Morgan was transported to Salem Hospital in a private vehicle.
OSP was assisted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Woodburn Fire Department, Keizer Fire Department and ODOT.
