A household of three has been displaced after a ferocious fire that broke out at a Clackamas home in the early hours of Friday morning.
At 3:41 a.m., crews with Clackamas Fire District were dispatched to the residential fire in the 15000 block of Banner Court. The incident was reported by several callers who said they’d heard an explosion and saw fire showing from the residence, officials said.
Just before firefighters arrived on the scene, dispatchers reported that an elderly male was still inside of the structure and unaccounted for.
Engine 306, from the Happy Valley Community Fire Station, arrived first to find a large amount of smoke and fire showing from the back of a single-family residence.
Firefighters immediately began searching for the elderly man who was reportedly missing. Fortunately, officials said he was quickly located outside the home and did not require assistance.
Firefighters then began pulling hose lines to extinguish the fire, focusing on the exterior of the structure. Some smoke damage did occur on the inside of the residence.
No injuries have been reported, and fire investigators will be on the scene later Friday to determine what caused this fire. The three people displaced by the blaze are being assisted by the Red Cross, officials said.
