Downtown Canby is getting a brand-new store this April: The Barn Door Boutique & Decor.

The boutique is the latest project of lifetime Canby resident Lacey McGraw, who will use the location to showcase her unique, handmade, leather creations. The leather-crafting business grew out of a hobby a couple of years ago, Lacey says, and really took off when she began sharing images of her work through Instagram (@laceylouleatherbands).

You can also find her here if Facebook is more your thing. Her product lines include leather bands, bags, necklaces, key chains, wallets and more.

But another key component of the business, and where it derives its name, will be custom-built barn doors made by Lacey’s father. Rustic barn doors (whether they be authentic and used or simply made to look that way) are a big trend in interior design nowadays.

They can be used as functional sliding doors or as static wall decor, and seem like a great fit with the rural, agrarian tastes of many new and longtime Canby area residents.

Lacey says the store is part of the overall vision she has for what downtown Canby can be.

The Barn Door is located at 107 N. Ivy Street next to Oliver Insurance. Come by on April 6 for their grand opening celebration, which will include finger foods, drinks and other goodies.

After that, the boutique will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, check them out on Facebook.
