Robbery and Pepper Spray Attack Reported in Canby

Police are seeking tips following a Sept. 18 robbery and assault at a Canby residence. According to police, a man broke into a home on South Good Lane outside of town Tuesday night of last week, and another man was pepper sprayed when he checked out the home at the owner’s request.

The homeowner had received a security alert on her phone while shopping for groceries, and she’d asked a friend to check it out. He arrived to find the back door kicked in, and the robbery still in progress.
He encountered a male suspect, who identified himself as “Todd Figs.” The suspect then pepper-sprayed him in the kitchen and fled in a late ’90s red Ford Explorer with gray or tan trim, which was driven by an accomplice.
Surveillance photos and video of the incident have been released, as well as a sketch of the assailant, which are available on our Facebook page. If you recognize this man, or the vehicle involved, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office asks that you call their tipline at 503-723-4949 or use their online email form.
