Registration Now Open for Businesses, Organizations and Other Participants in Light Up the Night Parade

Though we refuse to believe it’s that time of year again already, the City of Canby insists that we share with you the news that registration is now open for parade participants in the 18th Annual Light Up The Night, which will be held Friday, Dec. 6, in downtown Canby.

The parade will certainly light up downtown Canby as it starts headed east down NW 1st Ave. near the post office, turns on Holly, weaves west 2nd, turns onto Fir, and eventually winds up at Wait Park, where hundreds of children will be eagerly waiting to meet the one and only Santa Claus.

The tree lighting will also be at Wait Park, as the beloved square becomes a twinkly wonderland for its annual holiday transformation.

Parade participants will start lining up at the post office at 5:30 p.m., and the parade starts at 6. The city says registration is open to businesses, community organizations, families, neighborhood associations or “anything else that the citizens of Canby can dream up.”

There is no fee to participate, but the city does ask participants to pre-register by filling out the form attached here, and deliver it to Calvin LeSueur, Canby’s economic development and tourism coordinator, at P.O. Box 930, Canby, OR 97013, or at LeSueurC@canbyoregon.gov. You can also contact Calvin with questions by email or at 503-266-0772.
