Police Seeking Suspect Who Shot 8 Geese and Left Them to Rot

Eight Canada geese were unlawfully shot dead and left to rot in a field in Clackamas County, Oregon State Police reported yesterday.

OSP Fish & Wildlife Division received the initial report on Nov. 29 of several geese that had been shot in a field in Happy Valley. When troopers arrived, they found a total of eight geese, one of which was in the process of being scavenged by a bald eagle. The remaining seven were salvaged and taken to Shy Ann Meats & Sausage Co. in Oregon City. After processing, they will be donated to charity.

Police are searching for anyone who might have information about the person responsible. The possible suspect vehicle was described as a blue pickup truck, but no make, model or license plate number was provided.

Anyone with information about this unlawful taking and waste is urged to contact the Oregon State Police by calling *OSP (*677) or emailing TIP@state.or.us.
