Police Seeking Suspect Who Invaded Molalla Woman’s Home, Claimed His Family Was Dead, Then Stole Her Car

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is asking for tips as it investigates a home-invasion robbery in which a man smashed through a fence, burst into a Molalla-area home and demanded the homeowner’s car keys before stealing her Buick Le Sabre.

At approximately 9:21 p.m. Wednesday, Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a home on Sawtell Road, just south of Molalla. The homeowner told deputies that she had been in the living room when she heard screaming and yelling at her front door. The front door burst open — and a man was standing on her porch, reportedly “screaming about his family being dead.” He stepped into the house and demanded the homeowner’s car keys.

As the man continued to scream and pace in and out of the home onto the porch, the homeowner threw her keys at him. The male suspect then turned around and ran away — and apparently drove off with the victim’s blue 2003 Buick LeSabre.

The fence leading to the front door of the residence appeared to have been pulled down, which investigators believe the suspect did to gain access to the yard due to the gate being latched. A truck in the driveway had also had a window smashed out, which deputies say is evidence the man tried to steal the truck before invading the victim’s home.

The suspect is described as follows:

  • White male adult
  • 20-30 years old
  • 5-foot-9
  • 185 pounds
  • Shaved head
  • Wearing camouflage pants and a dark, possibly sleeveless shirt
  • Deputies and Molalla police officers canvassed the area and learned that a man matching that description had been seen in the area previously.
