Police Seek Help in Identifying the ‘Doggy Door Bandit’

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man they’ve dubbed the “Doggy Door Bandit.” …For obvious reasons.

The burglary at approximately 10:30 a.m. on April 2 at a home in Clackamas on SE 108th Ave. The suspect entered the residence through a large pet door, then stole several items from the home, including electronics and jewelry.

Fortunately for investigators, the suspect’s face was clearly captured on a surveillance camera pointed at the door. He can be seen peeking through the window while chatting on a cellphone, then squeezing through the pet door.

After the suspect realizes he’s on camera, he attempts to conceal his identity by quickly pulling the drawstrings of his hoodie tightly around his face and covering the camera with a blanket.

Police described the suspect as follows:

African-American male
Approximately 18-25 years of age
Medium build
Wearing a black beanie, black hooded sweatshirt with “NBA” in white letters on the chest, light-grey sweats, black shoes with white soles, and black gloves
