A single occupant in a home on Beverly Drive in Oregon City perished in an early morning house fire Monday.
Clackamas Fire crews arrived at the scene of the single-story residence at approximately 1:37 a.m. to find the structure heavily involved with black smoke pouring from multiple windows.
Firefighters deployed hose lines and began searching the home for occupants, finding only one, who was not identified.

Paramedics attempted every life-saving effort, but sadly, the individual died at the scene.
No other injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation by Clackamas Fire and Oregon City Police.
A total of 22 firefighters responded to the scene to bring the fire under control.
