As the holiday season kicks off in earnest following this week’s Thanksgiving feast, a new promotion by the City of Canby and more than 25 local businesses is rewarding those who choose to do their shopping in the Garden Spot.
“Shop Local Canby is a campaign rewarding residents and visitors to Canby for shopping at our local businesses this holiday season,” city Economic Development and Tourism Coordinator Tyler Nizer explained.
Participants will receive a punch card that they can redeem at local businesses by making one purchase of at least $10 (businesses are limited to one punch per person, per day).
Once residents or visitors have completed their cards with a total of 10 punches, they can turn them in at participating drop boxes for a chance to win a variety of prizes.
The Shop Local Canby campaign begins on Small Business Saturday (the Saturday after Thanksgiving, or November 26 this year) and completed cards must be turned in by 8 p.m. Thursday, January 5. Participants may complete and turn in as many cards as they like.
The prize drawing will take place on January 6.
Participating businesses will be marked with a Shop Local Canby decal on their front doors. They include Art-O-Maddic, Backstop Bar and Grill, Bikes ‘N’ More, Bricks and Minifigs, B’s Bake Shoppe, Canby Rental and Equipment, Canby Smiles, Cutsforth’s Market, Dahlia Home and Garden, Ebner’s Custom Meats and Fultano’s.
Also involved are Gwynn’s Coffee House and King’s Farm to Table, Little Love Resale, Los Dos Agaves, Mattress World, Oaxaca Bakery, Post Furnishings, Puddin’ River Chocolates, Red Door Antiques, Retro Revival, Rice Time, Siren Song, The Barn Door Boutique, The Book Nook, Tin and Paisley, Ultimate Team Spirit and Wayward Sandwiches.
