MOMS Club of Canby to Host Annual Preschool Fair

The MOMS Club of Canby will host its annual preschool fair at the Canby Alliance Church gymnasium on Monday, January 17.

The event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The church is located at 900 North Juniper Street in Canby.

Club President Beth Johnson said the annual fair is a free event for the whole family and allows parents to visit with local preschools to see which one is right for them and their children.

“Preschools in the area all come to one place for a big open house,” she explained. “You get to meet the teachers from the schools, as well as get information on other programs and services available to parents.”

The Canby Public Library also generously donates free books to the event for kids to take home, and this year, the club will be collecting food items for The Canby Center’s backpack buddies program.

The most-needed food items and supplies are individual breakfast oatmeal packets or cups, canned tuna, granola bars, single packets of macaroni and cheese, and individual packets of snacks such as Goldfish crackers or Chex mix.

The MOMS Club has been hosting the annual outreach since 2005 and expects to welcome at least 30 families at this year’s iteration.

The MOMS Club is an international nonprofit organization that offers support for mothers. The local Canby branch started in February 1995 and hosts regular play dates, coffee meet-ups and more as well as a monthly moms’ night out and members meeting.
