Molalla Man Arrested after Evading Police in Beavercreek Area

A Molalla man was arrested for numerous charges and outstanding warrants after attempting to elude police on foot in the Beavercreek area early Wednesday morning.

Fredrick Jason Lotterer.

According to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy noticed a 2006 Mazda sedan driving recklessly — and without tail lights or license plates — in the Beavercreek area. at approximately 3:45 a.m.

The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, but the car quickly turned on South Schockley Road from Upper Highland Road. The suspect drove a short distance before ditching the car in a driveway on Schockley Road and running away into a wooded area.

In a hurry, the suspect left the car in gear as he ran away. It slowly came to a stop against a nearby tree, deputies reported.

Deputies, with the assistance of K-9 officer Coda, searched the area for nearly two hours but did not immediately find the suspect. The car was registered out of Montana, and authorities were uncertain of the suspect driver’s identity.

Finally, at about 6:45 a.m., a resident who had been assisting deputies called 911 to report he’d spotted the suspect on his property. Several deputies were still in the area, and they quickly located the suspect and took him into custody without further incident.

The suspect was identified as Fredrick Jason Lotterer, 37, of Molalla. Officers determined that Lotterer’s driver’s license was suspended — and he had five felony and misdemeanor warrants for his arrest out of Canby, Oregon City, Marion County, Yamhill County and Clackamas County.

The warrant charges included a probation violation, possession of methamphetamine, failure to appear on two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and failure to appear on theft charges.

Lotterer was transported to and booked at the Clackamas County Jail, where his bail was set at $94,000.
