On December 12, 2021, at approximately 10:22 a.m., 911 callers reported a serious motor vehicle crash on McKay Road Northeast, east of French Prairie Road in northern Marion County.
According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, two cars were involved in the collision: a white Toyota Tacoma and a blue Ford Focus. The driver of the Ford Focus did not survive the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota Tacoma was taken to a local hospital by ambulance.
Deputies have identified the deceased driver as 22-year-old Anthony Skibba, of McMinnville. The surviving driver of the Toyota Tacoma has been identified as 62-year-old Carmelo Rodriguez, of Colorado.
Investigators from the Marion County multi-agency crash team were called out to the scene. Based upon initial information, investigators determined the blue Ford Focus was traveling eastbound before crossing over the center line, colliding with the oncoming Toyota Tacoma.
