Livability Coalition to Make a Splash with New Additions at Canby Bike Hub

A new drinking fountain and water bottle filler is coming to the Canby Bike Hub, the Canby Livability Coalition announced this week, thanks to a Community Partnership Program grant by Clackamas County Tourism & Cultural Affairs.

This grant will provide the funds to install the fountain, along with irrigation to water plants at the small park, gazebo and bike resource hub located on the corner of Territorial and Holly. The grant will fund some new signage around around town guiding bike users to the hub.

The coalition says they are still working out the details, but they hope to have the fountain installed in the next two to three months.

Canby Livability Coalition is a nonprofit organization dedicated to maintaining Canby’s quality of life. They also sponsor the popular Slice of Summer concert series in Wait Park.

It was another grant from the county’s tourism office, this one for $12,400, that paved the way for the Bike Hub to be built in the first place. Nearly 50 people, including Mayor Brian Hodson and then-Canby Area Chamber of Commerce Director Mallory Gwynn, attended the dedication ceremony on April 15, 2017.
