Stressed out on Tax Day? You’re not alone — and Kona Ice is offering a free way to “chill out.”
The island themed-shaved ice truck will be parked at the Les Schwab Tire Center in Canby from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, April 18, and will be handing out free treats to stressed-out taxpayers.
Using the tagline “No Taxation with Relaxation,” the Kona team and local owner Sarah Fast will be handing out free cups of shaved ice to all who stop by. Tropical tunes and flower leis will add ot the festive atmosphere.
The company says this is its seventh year hosting its annual National “Chill Out” Day giveaway on the tax filing deadline.
The event is one of a number of charitable, educational and youth recreational organizations the company has supported through its giveback programs.
Kona Ice was founded in 2007 by CEO Tony Lamb, who dreamed of building a better ice cream truck. Since then, the company has grown to more than 1,400 mobile units in 49 states and has given more than $100 million back to neighborhood schools, organizations and teams.
