The Clackamas County Fair may have been canceled for this week, but your digestive system doesn’t have to know the difference.
This weekend, the county fairgrounds will be offering a “Taste of the Fair” drive-thru experience, featuring select food trucks and vendors that would have been at the fair this week — if not for the coronavirus.
The carts will be set up in the red lot outside the fairgrounds, near the Canby Depot Museum.
The food court will be open from noon to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, with more “fair favorites” expected on the two weekend days.
If the offering proves popular, the fairgrounds will bring it back for more weekends through September, according to the Facebook post confirming the event Thursday.
The Canby Now Podcast first reported that the “Taste of the Fair” event was in the works earlier this month. Fairgrounds Marketing and Events Coordinator Tyler Nizer said he had not been sure if the food court would come together in time for Fair Week, but “things fell into place.”
The Oregon Dairy Women will also be in town this weekend, offering a selection of cones and shakes from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday at their Red Barn on Wheels in the parking lot of the Canby Wilco.
