Emu Corralled after Escaping Clackamas County Farm

A rogue emu is home safe after escaping from his farm and spending five hours on the loose in Clackamas County.

And, for those who only clicked on this story to find out if it was Canby’s famous Kevin the Emu who lives on Arndt Road — no, this was not Canby’s famous Kevin the Emu who lives on Arndt Road.

This rebellious bird is named Gomez and sparked several reports to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office about a loose emu spotted around 362nd Drive in Sandy Friday, between Colorado Road and Highway 211.

Deputies were later able to track down and corral the 30-year-old jailbird and reunite him with his owner who had been driving around looking for him.

A neighbor later lent their trailer to the owner to get Gomez home safely.

Though, if this photo posted by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is any indication, we’re pretty sure he’s already plotting his next jailbreak:
