Damascus Man in Custody for Allegedly Shooting and Killing His Adult Son

A Damascus man is in custody after allegedly shooting and killing his grown son during a confrontation Sunday night, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to the Eastmont Drive and Shady Lane area of Damascus just after 10 p.m. Sunday, on a reported disturbance involving a gun. Oregon State Police troopers and Sandy police also responded to the scene.

When deputies arrived, they encountered several cooperative witnesses, including the suspect, William Paul Fuller, 69, a resident at the address. Deputies learned Fuller had fatally shot his son Jason Fuller, 35, in the chest during what police described only as a “confrontation.”

Deputies detained William Paul Fuller without incident. A search warrant was served on the residence and several firearms were seized.

Deputies attempted to perform first aid and CPR on the victim. American Medical Response and Clackamas Fire District No. 1 paramedics also responded, but Jason Fuller was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation continued throughout the night and into the next morning.

William Paul Fuller was arrested and transported to the Clackamas County Jail, where he was booked on charges of murder and unlawful use of a weapon. The investigation is ongoing.
