County Cultural Coalition Announces Grant Opportunities

The Clackamas County Cultural Coalition currently seeks proposals for the 2021 Community Cultural Participation Project Grant Program. Though typically reserved for projects, grants will also be available for operating support this cycle due to the impact of Covid-19 on cultural organizations.

Any Clackamas County-based organization or individual working in the fields of arts, heritage and/or humanities may apply. Tax-exempt status is not a prerequisite. The deadline for grant applications is October 9, 2020.

Grant recipients will be notified in January 2021 for projects occurring between January and December 2021. The Clackamas County Cultural Plan, grant applications, and complete guidelines are all available at: https://www.clackamasculturalcoalition.org/grants/project-grants/

Funding priorities support projects that build cultural infrastructure, sustain and grow local assets, and remove barriers to cultural participation. Priorities specifically implement the Coalition’s vision, which is built around key values of:

• Increasing public recognition and valuing of local culture

• Acknowledging the vibrancy that social, cultural and ethnic diversity bring

• Increasing public participation in local culture

• Supporting the inclusion of arts and culture in every community

“It’s exciting to be able to offer these funding opportunities for Clackamas County arts, culture and heritage organizations, and individual creatives,” says Katinka Bryk, Clackamas County Cultural Coalition Chair. “The impact extends beyond simply the immediate performance or project- cultural experiences can change lives and communities for the better.

“They increase the quality of life, explain our history and bring joy. Thank you to all the organizations who work so steadily to make Clackamas County the best place to live.”

The Clackamas County Cultural Coalition grant program is managed by the Clackamas County Arts Alliance.
