Classes Will Stay Primarily Online this Fall at CCC

For returning Clackamas Community College students, who endured an online-only spring semester after the coronavirus hit, officials confirmed Thursday: school this fall will look pretty much the same.

“The health and safety of our community is of upmost importance to Clackamas Community College,” CCC President Tim Cook said. “With this in mind, we have opted to move the majority of our classes online for fall.”

The college is now offering virtual admissions, assisting students getting started at the college by video conference, phone and email. Student services such as advising, veterans services and the disability resource center are also available remotely.

For those thinking about earning a bachelor’s degree, CCC offers several transfer degrees. Transfer students not only save thousands of dollars on tuition, research shows that community college transfer students are more likely to graduate.

CCC is also working to help those who may have lost their job due to Covid-19. The college’s Workforce Services provides employment and training for Clackamas County businesses and job seekers. Their workforce experts prepare job seekers for high-demand jobs and connect them to employers through career planning, training and placement services.

CCC can also help pay for college. Along with scholarships and grants, the college has the support and emergency funding to help not only pay for tuition, but also child care, textbooks and transportation.

Also, the Clackamas Community College Foundation has raised funds to assist students who are experiencing financial hardship related to the Covid-19 pandemic that can be used for a wide range of school and living-related expenses.
