A Clackamas County man is facing federal child pornography charges after he was allegedly arrested with thousands of videos and images depicting child pornography stored on his iPhone. 24-year-old Nic Stacy made his first appearance in federal court in Portland on Sept. 12 and was ordered to remain in custody until trial.
Stacy is charged with possessing and transporting child pornography. Investigators allege that his phone contained over 9,000 videos and 20,000 images depicting child pornography and that he also uploaded child pornography to his Gmail account.
According to his website and Facebook page, Stacy was a dedicated Elvis impersonator and was active at events in the region.
Investigators believe that Stacy also impersonated a law enforcement officer on numerous occasions in an attempt to make contact with and sexually exploit minors.
This arrest rocked many area residents who knew Stacy, people who grew up with him, attended high school with him at Gladstone, or who knew him later in life. Their stories can’t be verified, but they seem to paint the picture of a con man. One woman described knowing Stacy for a five-year period, during which he claimed to be from the U.K. and even effected a British accent.
“Over the years, he just got weirder and weirder, until last year, and it came to light that he had basically been lying to us about who he was,” she said.
Police are looking for minors or children who may have been victims of Stacy, who may not know his name but who would recognize his face.
Parents who have a child who may have come into contact with him should call the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office immediately at 503-723-4949 or use their online tip form. Please reference CCSO Case No. 18-954547.
