Less than a month after reopening for in-person services, many city offices and programs will close to the public again starting this Friday, as Clackamas County is elevated to the “extreme risk” level in the governor’s reopening framework amid a fourth wave of coronavirus infections and hospitalizations.
The City of Canby reopened facilities to the public on modified schedules in early April, beginning with the Canby Public Library and expanded services at the Canby Swim Center.
But, starting Friday, April 30, city officials say they must again close offices and most indoor facilities to the public to remain in line with updated guidelines for extreme risk counties.
The city will continue to provide the majority of its services, as it has for much of the past year, even though most facilities will be closed to in-person visits.
Those who need to may still make an appointment with some offices using the phone numbers below.

The library will close to the public again, however, it will continue its curbside pickup offerings 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
The Canby Swim Center will continue to offer lane reservations 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Lane reservations begin at the top of the hour and reservations last for 45 minutes.
The Swim Center may allow no more than six people to swim at one time, no exceptions, including the Canby High School Swim Team. The water exercise class is canceled until countywide restrictions are rolled back.
The Canby Area Transit (CAT) business office will continue to be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Transit services will not be impacted by the closure.
“The city is mindful of the incredibly difficult challenges and unfortunate impacts this situation continues to create for our Canby businesses and community organizations,” Archer said. “The city will continue to do all it can to support its businesses, and we encourage community members to keep supporting our local Canby businesses as much as possible.”
