Canby Fire to Host Storm Clean-Up at Eco Park

The Canby Fire District is hosting a volunteer clean-up day to remove and process debris from the February ice storms at Eco Park this weekend.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 10.

Volunteers are asked to dress appropriately for the task at hand, with jeans and long-sleeve shirts, and bring your own gloves, safety glasses and hearing protection.

You are also asked to bring hand saws, pruners and wheelbarrows — as well as power tools for those who are qualified to operate them.

Finally, bring enough water for yourself for the five-hour event — or however long you plan to pitch in. Outhouses will be available.

Crews will spend the day hand-loading two flatbed trucks to move storm debris to the chipper site at the nearby Canby municipal shop.
