The CAT is back on the prowl. Canby Area Transit’s popular City Circulator route — a local circulator bus that runs on a continuous cycle around Canby throughout the work week — is returning Monday as the Canby Loop.
CAT formerly ran two lines for the City Circulator, a green line that served north Canby and a blue line for the south. The new Canby Loop will follow a similar route that encompasses both areas.
CAT staff will be hosting a Circulator information booth at the Canby Transit Center, 328 NE 1st Ave. near Cutsforth’s Market, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, to promote the new addition to the city’s transportation offerings.
The Canby Loop is free for riders and will run 12 hours, between 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, starting at the transit center and making 14 stops around town. Canby transit officials say the route and schedule may change based on demand.
The Canby Loop does not operate on weekends or major holidays. The city transit service currently provides commuter bus service to Oregon City and Woodburn via the Route 99X, Dial-A-Ride service and complementary paratransit service to eligible individuals who are unable to access the fixed-route bus.
