The Canby Cougars boys and girls swim teams were victorious in a “cat fight” over their visiting Three Rivers League rival Tigard Tigers last week. Canby hosted Tigard Dec. 19, and the Canby boys won 102 to 66, while the Canby girls won their second meet of the season with a score of 106 to 64.
Top three finishers for the Canby girls were: Mairen Chard, first in the 100 fly and 100 back. Kylie Hester, first in the 100 and 50 freestyle. Avery Keinonen finished 1st in the 200 and 500 free. Allison Yancey, 1st in the 200 IM and 2nd in the 100 breaststroke. Kennedy Hester finished second in both the 50 and 100 free.
Elora Paulson was 3rd in the 200 IM, while Alora Robbins finished 3rd in the 200 free and 100 back. Katie Ball was 3rd in the 500 freestyle. The Canby girls finished first in the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay.
The Cougar boys swam to top 3 finishes too. Jamison Chard swam to first in the 100 free and 2nd in the 200 free. Connor DeRisio was first in the 50 free and 2nd in the 100 fly. Hunter DeRisio finished 1st in the 200 free and 3rd in the 100 back. Thomas Diggles finished 2nd in the 50 and 100 freestyle.
Jordan Spencer finished 2nd in the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke. Jack Hayhurst was 2nd in the 100 back and 3rd in the 200 IM. Brandon Slater swam to a couple 3rd place finishes in the 100 fly and 100 Breaststroke. Devin Bird swam to a third place in the 500 free. The Canby boys finished first in the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay.
