Aurora Man Sentenced to 25 Years in Prison for ‘Numerous Sex Crimes’ against Children

An Aurora man was sentenced to 25 years in prison last week after pleading guilty to “numerous sex crimes” against two children, which took place from 2015 to 2017 in Multnomah and Clackamas counties.

36-year-old Andrew Heininge was convicted in Multnomah County Circuit Court last Monday on one count of rape, one count of sodomy, three counts of first-degree sexual abuse and one count of use of a minor to manufacture a controlled substance. He also pleaded no contest to a fourth count of sex abuse.

In a separate case, he pleaded guilty to two counts of rape in the first degree and two counts of sexual abuse in the first degree. Most of the charges he was convicted of were Measure 11 offenses carrying mandatory minimum sentences.

The victims were relatives of Heininge, according to court documents. One was younger than the age of 16 at the time of the abuse; the other younger than 14.

Heininge initially faced 49 felony charges, including several related to sexual abuse, incest, the sale and manufacture of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school, the use of a minor in manufacturing marijuana and forcing a minor to ingest a controlled substance.

The remaining charges were dismissed through a plea agreement.

“The resolution of this case will come as an incredible relief to the victims and their family,” said Multnomah County Deputy District Attorney Amber Kinney, who litigated this case. “Mr. Heininge caused considerable harm to these children. The state supports this fair and just resolution as it holds Mr. Heininge accountable for his actions and protects his victims from any further trauma that they could have been exposed to during trial. We are very proud of the victims for coming forward and making these disclosures.”

Upon his release, he will face 45 months of post-prison supervision. He will also have to register as a sex offender and has been ordered to not have contact with either victim.
