PORTLAND, Ore. — A 37-year-old woman is in Multnomah County Jail after allegedly attacking two people on a MAX train over the weekend, according to newly released court documents.
Police Respond to Violent Train Incident
Officers were dispatched on Saturday, November 8, to the area of 82nd Avenue and Jonesmore Street after reports of a stabbing aboard a MAX train. When police arrived, they encountered a woman “covered in blood,” slurring her speech and speaking with a “sloppy tone,” according to the documents.
The woman was identified as Julia Marie Stimtustus, who officers say had a boxcutter in her possession at the time of the arrest.

Officers also interviewed the male victim, who told them he was stabbed after asking Stimtustus to stop being disruptive toward a group of teenagers on the train. He reported that she sliced him in the left shoulder with the boxcutter and also used a Taser on him multiple times.
CCTV Footage Shows Attack on Multiple Passengers
Prosecutors say surveillance video from the train confirmed the victim’s account and showed that Stimtustus attacked another passenger during the same incident.
Multiple Charges Filed
Stimtustus was arraigned Monday and is facing a series of serious charges, including:

Her next court appearance is scheduled for November 19.
Prior Criminal History
Court records show that Stimtustus has an arrest history in Oregon dating back to 2012 in Deschutes County, when she was living in Warm Springs. She also has a previous conviction in Washington state for second-degree taking a vehicle without permission, a felony recorded in 2007.
