The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25 people and attempted to bring in an additional 102 with outstanding family violence warrants this week as part of its 19th Annual Family Violence Apprehension Detail.
Every year during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, law enforcement agencies in Oregon collaborate to track down people accused of domestic abuse for the annual sweep, and this year, 45 Clackamas County officers joined the 215 agencies in 15 states for the effort.
“This collaborative effort demonstrates to offenders that no matter where they flee, we will work to hold them accountable for their crimes,” the sheriff’s office said. “It also helps to raise awareness of the problem of family violence in our communities.”
Many local law enforcement agencies joined the CCSO in this year’s sweep, including the Canby Police Department, Molalla Police Department and Oregon City Police Department, as well as the U.S. Marshals Service and Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office.
